Ilex x altaclerensis 'Camelliifolia', early November. A so-called Highclere holly developed at Highclere Castle in 1835, a cross between I. aquifolium and I. perado. It has almost completely smooth, dark green leaves which take on a burnished purple hue in winter. Established plants have large red berries in autumn.
