Babiana vanzyliae, glasshouse, late March. Native to the the Bokkeveld Plateau in the northwestern Cape, south Africa. Sometimes spelled Babiana vanzijliae. The genus name is derived from the Dutch word baviaan, referring to the African monkey that consumes the corms of plants in the genus - which also explains the plant's common name, the Baboon flower.
