Blossom of Plum 'Laxton's Gage', early April. "A yellow English dessert gage raised by Laxton Brothers, Bedford, in 1899 from a cross between 'Greengage' x 'Victoria'. Medium sized, round-oblong, yellow fruit larger than a greengage. Fairly soft, greenish yellow, juicy flesh. Sweet with an excellent rich gage flavour. Vigorous upright to spereading tree. Crops well. Susceptible to silver leaf." (Keepers Nursery)
