Disporum cantoniense 'Night Heron', late May. Also known as Prosartes and Cantonese fairy bells. Native to forests and thickets in China, its spring foliage color reportedly brings to mind the dark plumage of the black-crowned night heron which has a worldwide distribution that includes both China and North America.
